Idaho district hires more teachers during transition to standards

The Boise School District this fall plans to offer more demanding math courses in its junior and high schools. The transition is part of the state's effort to adopt the Idaho Core Standards. The district has added seven secondary math teachers to provide extra help to students struggling with the more rigorous content. All students also will have the opportunity to attend math seminars to practice the skills they learn in class.
