Experts: Baby's health begins in the womb

The choices pregnant women make, such as getting good prenatal care and eating a healthy diet, may help their babies avoid disease and illness for decades, experts say. Peter Gluckman, of the University of Auckland in New Zealand, said babies begin preparing for their environment while in the womb by reading cues from their mother's choices and actions, which can influence epigenetic changes.
