Supreme Court ruling may lead to more testing

A recent Supreme Court decision regarding a hiring test that may have discriminated against black employees could end limiting employers ability to screen for promotions, experts say. The court's ruling favored white and Hispanic firefighters in New Haven, Conn., who passed a promotion exam that the city later refused to abide by because no black firefighters qualified for promotions. While some companies say the case frees them to use hiring tests more pervasively, others say they're re-examining their hiring process to look for racial bias in promotion procedures.
