FDA is urged to establish a national purity standard for honey

Some lawmakers and trade groups are calling on the FDA to ensure the purity of honey products by creating a "standard of identity" for honey. "A standard for honey would protect consumers because they'd get what they're paying for, and it would protect legitimate producers," said Bob Bauer, the National Honey Packers and Dealers Association's executive vice president.
