Cable's upfront ad deals are closing in on broadcast numbers

Cable networks are wrapping up a successful round of upfront ad sales, and this year's sales are expected to match or exceed the upfront take for broadcast networks. Discovery Communications has seen ad volume increase 20%, while Turner's TBS, TNT and truTV have seen rates increase about 13%. CNN's upfront sales have increased as well, as advertisers anticipate the presidential election season.
