If you already have a job, you should examine the contract you have with your current employer before launching a startup, writes attorney Stephanie Singer. "Look for language in three key areas: intellectual property, non-competition and non-solicitation," she writes. Some employment contracts may not be enforceable due to overly broad language or conflicts with the law, she notes.
