Sequestration may cause tension between active-duty and reserve components

Sequestration is threatening to spark disagreements involving the military's active-duty, Reserve and National Guard components, insiders say. "The Army has already had … tension between the three elements of their pyramid," said retired Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Andrew Davis, executive director of the Reserve Officers Association. Points of contention include whether to merge elements of the Guard and Reserve, and whether Guard and Reserve missions should be canceled in lieu of active-duty deployments.
