SolarCity will offer solar power storage in 2 years

SolarCity plans to market battery packs that would store the energy generated by rooftop solar panels during the day, Catherine Green writes. Tesla Motors, the electric vehicle company, will supply the battery packs, which will be rolled out to customers in early 2015. Jim Jenal of Run on Sun said, "Smart storage is the biggest issue coming in the solar industry, but right now, it's ridiculously expensive. That's why there's so much research and [venture capital] money."
