Survey: Cloud data encryption approaches differ

A majority of enterprises are encrypting data before (31%) or during (37%) transfer to a cloud, according to a Ponemon Institute survey, but some statistics are not as promising when it comes to data security by cloud providers. Just 35% of U.S. companies say they know how providers are ensuring needed security, though 57% feel confident good safeguards are in place, the survey said.
