LinkedIn aims to lure marketing dollars with increased engagement

LinkedIn is looking to increase its ad revenues by launching new ad formats and touting increased user engagement and content-sharing capabilities, officials say. Still, the network's reputation as a professional networking site might make it hard to win advertising contracts from mainstream brands. "When we go and present a concept to a client, the typical perception still is that it's a careers network," says Peter Fasano of Social@Ogilvy.
