Firefox makes JavaScript mandatory in latest update

Firefox 23 developers have removed the ability to disable JavaScript in the browser. The move comes in response to the proliferation of Web-based applications that aren't viewable without JavaScript, writes Nick Farrell. While JavaScript was once seen as a website enhancement tool, the coding language has taken on a more prominent role for developers, he adds.
