Networks make bid to share in stations' retrans revenue

The latest wrinkle in the retransmission consent system is a push by broadcast networks to receive a portion of the fees paid to affiliates by pay TV systems. Fox is charging its stations a flat fee, while NBC is in talks for a system in which the network would handle retrans negotiations and divide the fees with its stations. ABC's plan blends the concepts, with the network receiving the greater of a flat fee or a portion of a station's retrans income.
