CMS data show family physicians have strong EHR MU rates

CMS data show 23,636 family physicians attained electronic health records meaningful use status last year, up 180% over 2011, but the retention rate for attesting physicians declined. The AAFP is working with government agencies to fix problems in the EHR MU program, but Jason Mitchell, M.D., director of the AAFP's Center for Health IT, said the data show family medicine "still has the greatest participation both by percentage and by the numbers."
