Blockbuster to open rental kiosks at QuikTrip retail outlets

Hoping to cut into Redbox's dominant position in the movie-rental kiosk business, Blockbuster announced that it would open its own kiosks at more than 550 QuikTrip stores in nine states. With kiosks in retail outlets such as Wal-Mart and 7-Eleven, Redbox controls 80% of the rental kiosk market, which Adams Media estimates is worth $1 billion annually.
