Critics say N.J. prevailing wage bill could up costs, hurt green building

New Jersey legislation that would require prevailing wages on projects funded by the Board of Public Utilities would boost the cost of some construction projects, observers say. Renewable energy experts also say the bill, which was passed by state lawmakers earlier this month, would discourage green construction. The prevailing wage requirement would not affect most residential projects, observers say.
