Column: Airline executives face resistance to ancillary fees

Spirit Airlines' announcement that it would start charging its passengers fees for some carry-on luggage sent a shock through the travel industry as well as the traveling public. Airline executives continue to deal with the aftershocks of the carrier's decision. Most airlines have implemented a variety of ancillary fees, but so far they appear reluctant to follow Spirit's lead on the carry-on charge.
