Are teachers with master's degrees more effective?

In New Hampshire, 53% of teachers have earned a master's degree. Some question whether teachers with advanced degrees are more effective. However, George Tuthill, of Plymouth State University's college of graduate studies, says teachers with master's degrees have a better understanding of their subject matter, their own teaching and how students learn.
