International venture on missile system moving ahead

The Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS), an international joint venture that includes Lockheed Martin, EADS, MBDA Italia and Germany's LFK, received the go-ahead from the U.S. Defense Acquisition Board for U.S. involvement in the design and development phase of the program. MEADS is a mobile missile system which is expected to replace other missile systems now used in the U.S., Italy and Germany.
