Bidding war takes shape as the U.K. prepares to sell bank assets

Some of the biggest names in London's financial district are lining up capital to bid on banking assets acquired by the U.K. government during a bailout in 2008. Royal Bank of Scotland, Northern Rock and 1,000 branches of Lloyds Banking Group are among assets the government wants sold during the next year.
