Researchers use electricity to control oil droplets

Researchers have found a new method of controlling oil droplets by using electricity. "We have conducted a very simple experiment to show that we can control particles on the surface of oil droplets using an electric field," said Jon Otto Fossum, physics professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The technique could have benefits for cosmetics as emulsifiers are used to keep makeup products stable.
