FCC extends comment period for free-spectrum plan

The FCC has given more time for interested parties to comment on its controversial free-wireless Internet plan, which major cell phone carriers say will interfere with their networks. Republican lawmakers also oppose the FCC's plan for the AWS-3 spectrum because of fears that the licensing conditions attached to it will curtail revenue from an auction.
