Plan calls for focus on vocational training in England

Students in England who do not plan on attending university would be given a "route to work" under a plan announced by Andy Burnham, the shadow education secretary. His proposal calls for expanding the country's curriculum to include a focus on vocational training, including courses in engineering, business studies and information and communications technology. Burnham also is seeking to expand apprenticeship opportunities for students.
