Massachusetts regulator accidentally sends out advisers' personal data

Experts say advisers in Massachusetts have little legal recourse after a CD-ROM with personal information including Social Security numbers and home addresses was accidentally sent by a state regulator to a trade publication. "This is a big mess," said Deborah Maloy, chairwoman of FPA's Massachusetts chapter, who said she may tell fellow FPA members about the breach in an upcoming bulletin.
