Ala. officials address criticism directed at the common core

Officials in Alabama held a forum Wednesday night to address the state's adoption of the Common Core State Standards, which have been criticized in the state. At the forum, officials explained the difference between standards, curriculum and resources, saying that while the standards would be imposed the state would retain control over resources used, how the standards are taught and other matters.
