Developers wary of Amelia Island, Ga., hotel objections

Delays in various hotel projects for Amelia Island, Ga., have some developers wondering if the effort is worthwhile. The developer for the Sea Palm Golf & Tennis Resort in nearby St. Simons Island says a proposal for a 60-room hotel on Amelia Island is moving at a "snail's pace" due to bureaucracy from local government, and South Carolina-based IMIC Hotels has had a proposal for an 83-room Fairfield Inn hotel stalled due to community objections.
