Fonterra dairy plant poised to become world's largest

Fonterra's Edendale facility will become the biggest dairy-processing plant in the world with the addition of a fourth milk drier to the Southland, New Zealand, factory in September. The $212 million project, which was necessitated by projected milk growth in the nation's South Island, is expected to add capacity for up to 27 metric tons of milk powder per hour. Once the drier is operational, the plant will be capable of processing 15 million liters of milk daily.
