Final rule on meaningful use gives providers more flexibility

The federal government on Tuesday issued the final rule on meaningful use of health information technology, which outlines the criteria that providers must meet to qualify for stimulus incentives. National Coordinator for Health IT Dr. David Blumenthal said the final rule gives providers greater flexibility by allowing them to choose which eligibility criteria to use.
