Tennessee county proposes sign-ordinance overhaul

Planners in Rutherford County, Tenn., have proposed an overhaul of the county's sign laws in an effort to ensure that the laws on the books reflect sea changes in sign technology. Some sign-shop owners and consultants worry about a proposal that would lower maximum sign heights from 125 feet to 50 feet, making them much tougher to see from the interstate.
