The News of the World might have avoided its ignominious end if it had paid more attention to the principles of sustainability, writes Adrian Henriques. The tabloid had never published a CSR report or publicly spoken about its sustainability efforts, Henriques notes. "However keen on the exposure of others, the tabloid was remarkably coy about its own affairs. ... It had therefore built no social capital on which it could fall back when times got hard," he writes.
