Microsoft offers vision of unifying consoles, PCs, phones, TVs

Andy Lees, president of Microsoft's Windows Phone division, told the company's partners that the software giant is pulling together a strategy of "a single eco-system" for game consoles, mobile devices, PCs and televisions. Speaking at the company's Worldwide Partner Conference, Lees said Microsoft would approach the issue differently from Apple and Google and that its Windows 8 release would take tablet computers into consideration, although the company sees tablets as a different animal from smartphones.
