BASF sells hydrophilic-additives line to Techmer

German chemical major BASF will sell "intellectual property and technical information for Irgasurf HL-brand hydrophilic melt additives" to concentrates maker Techmer for an unpublicized amount, according to this article. Irgasurf products no longer match BASF's goals, said Soren Hildebrandt of BASF's Performance Chemicals segment. Techmer believes it can build the unit because "it complements our existing product line and strong presence in the markets of fibers and nonwovens," CEO John Manuck said.
