Maine hospitals improve security to curb ED violence

Hospital emergency department violence is a nationwide problem that Mayo Regional Hospital in Maine addressed by implementing the Vocera wireless system, which lets providers quickly call for help, hands-free. Other hospitals have specially trained security forces that help nurses and physicians when patients become violent.
