President Obama is seeking to put battery technologies at the center of his administration's narrative of economic recovery, reports The Washington Post, but it's not yet clear whether anyone's listening. Obama wants to make batteries and e-vehicles a growth industry in the U.S., but some experts say the idea's time has yet to come. "Basically, there's really no proven market, neither electric vehicle nor plug-in hybrid electric vehicle," says one battery consultant. "And there's really no battery company in the United States that has a verified product."
