Retailers' delivery plans may leave FedEx, UPS in the dust

Amazon's strategy of building fulfillment centers closer to customers and increasing use of its own delivery trucks may become a problem for traditional shippers FedEx and UPS, logistics experts say. The challenge is likely to be magnified as brick-and-mortar chains including Best Buy, Gap and Wal-Mart increase the shipping of online orders from nearby stores rather than far-flung warehouses.
