Summer camp immerses students in Chinese language, culture

Some students from St. George's School in Middletown, R.I., participated in an inaugural summer camp held in China. Chen Xiaoyu, a Chinese language teacher at the school, said he hoped the experience, which included two weeks of classroom learning, deepened students' understanding of the country. "We went to the Great Wall yesterday, which is incredible and one of the coolest things that I've ever seen," student Katelin Hutchinson said. "But it's also been fun just to explore China and talk to the people," she added.
