DSM to launch eco-friendly type of succinic acid

Dutch life and material-sciences group DSM says it is preparing to launch a green, plant-based type of succinic acid for use in polymers, resins, food and pharmaceuticals. The eco-friendly version of the chemical could represent big savings for manufacturers, eliminating the need for petrochemical inputs and carbon dioxide consumption. The first batches should be ready by the end of the year.
