Burger King aims for sleeker feel with NYC Whopper Bar

The upcoming debut of Burger King's Manhattan Whopper Bar will mark a distinct departure from the chain's instantly recognizable decor, with a sleeker, upscale-but-still casual feel, says the restaurant's designer. The outlet will be the chain's second to sell beer, and the company wanted a space where guests are encouraged to linger and chat over a brew, says designer Kristi Bare. "It's a rebranding, it's a rethinking, and that needed a different design space."
