Senators get proactive in preventing more C-17 funding

Sens. Tom Carper, D-Del., and John McCain, R-Ariz., are strategizing to prevent more funds from going toward the acquisition of any new C-17 cargo planes. The two held a hearing this week to allow senior Pentagon officials and military experts to explain why they think the Air force doesn't need any more C-17s. The hearing was requested after several years of Congress repeatedly purchasing many more of the aircraft than the Air Force said it needed.
