Dispute over health care law is expected to lead to $500M in ads this year

Kantar Media's Campaign Media Analysis Group estimates that about $500 million has already been spent since 2009 on TV ads mentioning the Affordable Care Act. In the coming months, the group anticipates another $500 million will be spent, potentially benefiting stations and networks across the country. Opponents of the health care law have spent five times as much as supporters on advertising. If the estimates prove accurate, the Affordable Care Act will generate more advertising dollars than any single issue in American history.
