Farmer protections are included in N.C. farm bill

A farm bill under consideration in North Carolina would give fruit and vegetable growers more legal protection in the event of foodborne illnesses. It is not known whether Gov. Pat McCrory, a Republican, will sign the bill, which also eases some environmental regulations and says farmers do not need to install automatic sprinklers in the living quarters of migrant workers.
