Motion says Ala. university officials failed to protect staff before shooting

The University of Alabama in Huntsville is accused in a motion by plaintiffs' attorneys of using "concealed police" to protect some officials from a professor who killed three of her colleagues, but failing to provide the same protection to other staff members. The officials knew that Amy Bishop, who is serving a life sentence after pleading guilty to the killings, was distraught over the rejection of her tenure, according to lawyers for two of the plaintiffs. The university said the claims are untrue and that "[a]fter two years, no credible evidence has yet been identified to support a claim of liability for any university official."
