Publicis extends reach in emerging markets with mobile-platform buy

Publicis Groupe is investing $15 million in mobile-rewards platform Jana, which targets consumers in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Nigeria and other emerging markets. The platform offers prepaid airtime to users who look at mobile ads, complete surveys, refer other users and purchase products. Other investors in Jana include former AOL and News Corp. executive Jon Miller, venture capitalist Todd Dagres and media veteran Paul Sagan.
