President Barack Obama issued an executive order giving the HIV Care Continuum Working Group 180 days to formulate recommendations related to the use of screening and early treatment to prevent the transmission of HIV. "This acceleration will enable us to meet the goals of the Strategy and move closer to an AIDS-free generation," the order states. The task force, led by Office of National AIDS Policy Director Grant Colfax and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, is expected to collect data from federal agencies on HIV testing and to review HIV research.
