Calif. elementary school designed to deliver 21st-century education

When Camarena Elementary School opens next week in Chula Vista, Calif., it will offer the latest in educational tools and pedagogy, such as walls and desks that can be written on, tablets instead of books and a focus on project-based learning, dual-immersion and collaborating teachers. The school will be on the cutting edge, officials said. "We are confident our students will become difference makers in the community," Superintendent Francisco Escobedo said.
