Geographer will lead massive online mapping class

Nearly 30,000 people have signed up for an online mapping class led by Penn State University geographer Anthony Robinson. The course will use ArcGIS Online, and Robinson notes in this interview that technology has only recently progressed to the point that teaching a course like this has become possible. "The technology threshold that it takes to make a map and do some spatial analysis has now ratcheted down to the point where it’s possible to do this with people all over the world working on different technology platforms," he said.
