Growing field of rivals puts pressure on Nike in China

Nike opened its first store in China in 1982 and became the country's best-selling sportswear brand by investing in everything from basketball courts to sports teams. The strategy proved successful for decades, but increasingly sophisticated consumers and growing competition from global brands including Adidas and H&M have fueled several quarters of declining sales.
