Repeal the RFS, House Republicans say

Republican Study Committee members are calling for the dismantling of the Renewable Fuel Standard, saying it is bad for consumers and businesses. "The fact that the federal government would put its big thumb on one side of the scale between the use of corn for food and the use of corn for fuel, to me, is just a wrong approach to begin with," said Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va. Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen said the committee "should be embarrassed by the lack of balance" at its hearing Wednesday. "Not a single representative from the ethanol industry nor a single national security, energy, environment, or auto expert who supports the renewable fuel standard is participating in this event," Dinneen said.
