USGA partners with universities to develop drought-resistant greens

Last year's drought made it even more imperative for golf courses to alter their greens to survive without needing as much water and chemicals as in the past. The USGA and research organizations such as the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are working together to develop new strains of grasses that need less water, herbicides and labor in order to flourish.
