Report: Coordinated effort needed for health work force shortages

A new report released by the Association of Academic Health Centers calls for a coordinated, national effort to address the health care worker shortage, which it says will soon be compounded by aging baby boomers exiting the work force and needing more care. The group recommended national laws and standards for workers, financial incentives for in-demand careers and improvements to health care education.
