Agents argue for navigator training, consumer protections

A new law in Missouri requires health insurance exchange navigators to be licensed. Insurance agents say the measure will protect consumers and ensure they receive accurate information, but the state has yet to set up a regulatory framework for the law. Federal grants for the hiring of navigators are expected by next month, and the time frame for training will be short since open enrollment begins on Oct. 1.
